The Data Diode is a system that only allows information dissemination while completely blocking external communications to prevent unauthorized access to core systems/data. However, what if bidirectional communication is needed...? What about remote maintenance? Remote desktop allows bidirectional signals for keyboard, mouse, and display, so if the connection is hijacked, it can be disastrous. Although it seems protected by a VPN, the number one target for intrusions is often the VPN itself, which may not provide sufficient security. To address this, we completely separate the pathways for the signals from the keyboard and mouse (the operation side) and the display (the target side), thereby protecting the "operation" from connection hijacking.
